This week, I just finished my second week of school! I got to know the campus, my classmates and teachers better. We actually started to learn, the first week was really all about getting to know people. Yes, there are still a lot of people I still don’t know yet or people I forget the names of. But, hopefully, I will get to know them better in the future. Even though we got to learn more, the second week came with a LOT of homework.
Some classes were the obvious. For example: Mathematics, English Language Literature (L&L), Individuals & Societies (I&S), Physical Education (P.E.) and Health & Careers Education (HCE). But some other classes I didn’t really expect is: Drama (my favorite class!), Design and French.
? Drama is the best class ever!! I feel so confident in class! Our teacher is awesome as well ?. He is SUPER funny and since he hates ‘busy-work’, he only makes us do really important online work. NO HOMEWORK!!! The vibe with the people learning drama with me is super chill and nice, except one guy, who always ruins the vibe and flow ?.
?Design is pretty fun and exciting as well! We are going to create our own companies and create a duffle bag based on our culture (personality)! I am so excited because these duffle bags could actually be in use. I’m super excited for this project!!
?Science (I call it Skenske with my friends) really pulls my attention. I find it fascinating of how people can recall so much in history and find out more about the human systems because of Science. I’ve always seemed to like Science. Plus, our teacher is a savage ?.
?For L&L and I&S, we have the same teacher! My recently gave us a task to read a book called ‘Shipwreck at the bottom of the world’, and it’s soooooo inspiring! It’s a documentary about a expedition in Antarctica and their journey. I think that everyone should read this documentary at least once in their whole life time. Originally, I was only suppose to read until page 47, but some curiosity got in the way and made me read the whole thing within two days ?.
?Math is actually not that bad. The teacher can be really funny sometimes! Saying things like “Okay, everyone is here. LETS GET THE PARTY STARTED” or “Bro, chill. It’s just Math”. And luckily, we all came back from the summer break so I can’t be the only one who’s brain isn’t working right?
? French is super confusing. I don’t know ANY French. So when people started learning, I started freaking out. We were playing a spelling game and because I don’t know any French, I wanted to melt away. THANK GOODNESS THE GERMAN ALPHABET IS SIMILAR TO THE FRRENCH ALPHABET. I am forever saved :))
We have this called a cohort. For example: Grade 7 is a cohort and if I’m in Grade 7, I can only talk to people within the Grade 7 cohort. I don’t need to social distance or wear my mask. But in the hallways, wearing a mask is a must. I usually wear my mask in class but sometimes, I gotta breath ya know?
I really enjoy being able to go to school again and meet new people. I get to socialize in what felt like forever and make new friends!! I am still scared about the Covid-19 state in my area but hopefully, everything gets better!
