Real Friends from Shannon Hale!

Written from Shannon Hale and illustrated by LeUyen Pham.

Today, I am going to review the graphic novel: Real Friends. In 2018, I had a summer trip to Seoul, Korea and met my best friend since Preschool. As a present, she bought me this graphic novel.

About the book:

Real friends is about the adventures the main character, Shannon Hale, went through in her elementary years. Starting in Preschool, where Shannon found her first friend, Adrienne, on her first day. Ever since then, Shannon and Adrienne were like a package deal. Suddenly, Adrienne left. Shannon makes new friends and has a fun time. But sometimes she wonders, are they real friends?

This book is based on the actual adventures of the author in her elementary years. Cool right?

Review:

One of the best thing in this novel is the enchanting illustrations. They are carefully drawn by LeUyen Pham so we could understand the story better. You will find it easier to see how some people are reacting.

I think this is a dramatic graphic novel. Throughout the book, you will accompany Shannon while she deals with all kinds of friendship problems. There will be moments of fun, drama and thrill. Luckily, everything turns out good :))

I would recommend this book to tweens and teens. Or any age if you enjoy reading and looking at illustrations.

Now after you have some ideas about the book. You can somehow understand why the book is so meaningful to me. I’m so lucky to have a real friend to give the book “Real Friends”.

If you want to read and buy this graphic novel. You can buy it on Amazon, Indigo, bookstores, Google Play Books, etc. It cost around $15 CAD a paperback and around $30 CAD for a hardcover. Sadly, I don’t think this graphic novel is translated into any other languages. Though, I hope you enjoy the novel! 😀

P.S: The review for Best Friends by Shannon Hale will be coming later, so make sure to check in daily!!!
