Attractions in Victoria, BC

Recently, I went on a short trip to Victoria, BC. I have never been there before, so going there was completely new territory! Here are some of the places I liked the most on my trip:

  • Hatley Castle

I am a person who loves Victorian Aesthetic. Everything from architecture to their clothing style. So when I was able to see a Castle up close, I was obsessed! The Hatley Castle was beautifully built with Victorian aesthetic, with a nude-ish colour palette. There were colourful flowers planted around the castle, including a large, round garden at the back of the castle. The funny thing is, I didn’t even enter the castle! I was already head-over-heels just from the exterior! But personally, I don’t think the interior would be that interesting, as they turned it into a University.

Do you like the Castle aesthetic?
Thats me!
  • Miniature World

Miniature World is mesmerizing! Something you cannot explain how breathtaking it is unless to experience it yourself. In Miniature World, they built small displays of houses, cities, railways, palaces and so much more! Every display was filled with so much detail, it made it seem real. Personally, I like the displays of old London, or Victorian inspired sets (obviously!). One of the crazier displays was when they built a small version of Trans Canada! With all the big points such as Vancouver, Calgary, all the way to Quebec city. I seriously question how much time in total it took to make all the displays for the place!

Their display themes were: Fantasy Land, Space, Camelot, Classic Car Rally, Circus World, Old London, Dollhouses, and a couple more. I loved all of them!

Looks pretty realistic right?
  • The Parliament Building || The Legislative Building of BC

The Parliament Building is something you should visit! Their tours are free, so make sure to catch one by the end of the day. The tour guide brings you into the most significant rooms, and I must say, they are absolutely mesmerizing! There was a specific room where there was gold like everywhere and paintings on the ceiling. The painting on the ceilings were pictures of BC’s most prominent industries: Forestry, Agriculture, Fishing, and Mining (I think).

The window in which was made to celebrate 50 years of Queen Elizabeth || on the thrown. As well as the window made for Queen Victoria. They are totally worth visiting for!

If you were to ever visit Victoria, BC, I would definitely put these on the top of my recommendations list!
