I. Love. ESCAPE ROOMS!!! Escape rooms are my go-to place for a hangout! Your stuck in a room, trying to find a way out! Ever since I first went to an escape room, I fell in love with it! You gotta figure out the codes and find the keys. Honestly, it feels like the only time I ever use my brain hehe. I’ve been to escape rooms at least 7 times and escaped once!
I like escape rooms because I reallllyyy like the idea of finding codes. How you have to try to connect things together to find the key! And the teamwork as well, you have to listen to everybody, even the smallest details. My first escape room was ‘Nobita & the last gift‘. Doraemon inspired. It was pretty easy, but since it was our first escape room, we didn’t ask for help because we though the button for help was for toilet breaks or something. <:) Since we were stuck and didn’t know what the help button was for, I was playing with a lock and accidentally unlocked it! I was just trying random numbers and accidentally opened the locked door!
The second time I went to ‘Nobita & the last gift‘, I went with 2 friends. I did what I remembered and opened the locked door that I accidentally found the code for. We found a secret room, unlocked a secret door and BOOM!!! We finished it!! Without much help as well!!! We were just dancing around but no one came to get us so we had to press the help button to get the workers in. We were gifted a certificate for finishing the room but I don’t know who has it anymore. Since they asked for our team name, we named it based on our shirts. Mine had a word ‘Paradise’ on it, one friend had the word ‘Sunday’ on her shirt (even though it was a Saturday) and my other friend didn’t have any words so we took the brand name (Ashford). Together : ‘Ashford Paradise on Sunday’ :)))
I think that ‘Nobita & the last gift‘ was really suitable as my first escape room and my first escaped room. In other words, my first escape room that I escaped. It was easy and super thrilling! I also like how it is Doraemon inspired as well! Overall, I would rate this a 8/10 :))
Then the next 2 escape rooms were ‘Zombie Apocalypse‘. It does look pretty scary, I do get scared of the darkness sometimes and the displays, but I know they are fake. It was really fun though! The first time I went, a girl with us knew all the codes to go to the last room but got stuck there. Second time, we went with our cousin and got pass everything in 15 mins because we knew all the codes BUT got stuck in the last room for 45 mins.
I really enjoyed trying to escape from this room because, it gives me a reason to. I’m a bit scared of the dark and fake blood so it keeps me motivated to keep trying. I was really lucky to be accompanied by people who aren’t so scared of the dark and help me. For me, this is a 9/10 :))
For summer last year, my cousins booked an escape room called ‘Mystery at the Majestic Theater‘. It was different from the other escape rooms I did because there was a camera and TV inside the room. So if they see you stuck on one problem for too long, they will write a clue for you on the TV. Kinda cool how it’s person generated. The puzzles were really smart as well ?.
The uniqueness of this escape room was what made me like it the most!! When you need help, usually they will come in and explain everything. But when they put the hint on TV, you still have to guess and try to figure it out. This obviously deserves a 9/10!!
For my birthday party in 5th grade, I did ‘Prison Break‘ with 5-6 of my friends. We did need a bit of help and got to the second last room! Good enough! We mostly worked alone, then once we get a clue we alert the others. An interesting part was that there was a glow-in-the-dark clue. We made it to the second last room but we happened to persuade the worker to give us another 15 mins. :))
This wasn’t the best but it was really fun! I think I didn’t enjoy it as much because my friends and I didn’t communicate clearly. BUT it was still an enjoyable experience!! I would definitely do it again. Just maybe with different people. 7/10 :))
And the most recent one was at my farewell party. I went with 3 friends to an escape room called ‘Ocean’s 8‘. The beginning of the escape room was different from the others. We got split into two groups and were placed in two rooms. We had to communicate through walkie talkies. We got to (we think) the second last room (as always). We did manage to get an extra 10+ mins because one of the timers in another room started to count down before we were even in it.
I loved this escape room experience because I was with my closest friends and we manage to figure things out without much confusion (unlike my other experiences). There were really hard-but-breakable puzzles and I liked the idea of being in to separate rooms. I would give this a 8.5/10 :))
Overall, I recommend escape room for everyone. It’s a fun activity you can do with family and friends. It gets you to work your brain on your creative side. All of the escape rooms has satisfied me. Alllll Cherie Approved :))
